With over 20 years of experience, Kimo has many different skill sets but if you had to group them into two categories they would be Business Development and Offering or Program Management. He sees these as interconnected skills that mutually benefit the people he is working with.
Kimo enjoys working with both disciplines and has the ability to “roll-up the sleeves” in both areas, but can also work with teams who are specialists in their respective areas of expertise.
He is best suited as a team contributor that has to manage or execute on a set of complex tasks that require coordination and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish a specific goal.
One of Kimo’s mentors Peter Strople uses what he calls the “Home Plate” to describe and categorize a person and their drive or value. There are four elements of the Home Plate: Passion, Impact, Uniqueness and Legacy.
Here is how they relate to Kimo.
1. Passion - Kimo’s passion is to help people achieve realistic dreams while living in the now and being a transparent sounding board to those who wish to know.2. Uniqueness - His uniqueness is that he is from a culture that is “laidback”, but his experiences and training have made him intense where needed, but approachable. He is sanguine and gets energized being around people. His uniqueness to others is that he has the ability to quickly disseminate “noise” from reality; this can be in relation to business and personal relationships.
3. Impact - Kimo’s impact to organizations and individuals is that he uses his relationships within the energy financing world as effective leverage to bring mutually beneficial alliances and funding partnerships together for green and conventional power generation companies. He uses a mix of inter-personal skill, technical savvy and life experiences to do this.
4. Legacy - Kimo would like to be able use his gifts and talents with people and companies who have a heart to give back to society and to multiply himself in the lives of those who wish to do the same.
